Four-year-old injured in A14 rear-end collision

A four-year-old boy was injured in a rear-end collision in a construction zone on the A14 Rheintal motorway near Altach and Koblach on Saturday afternoon, ORF reported. He and the driver of the other car were taken to hospital.

A 34-year-old man was travelling towards Tyrol in the overtaking lane with his son when he had to brake sharply because of traffic. A 54-year-old woman driving behind him was unable to stop in time and collided with his car.

The woman suffered leg injuries and was taken to Hohenems State Hospital. The boy was taken to Dornbirn Hospital, while his father was uninjured.

Both cars were so badly damaged that they had to be towed away.
