All five victims identified after Engadin coach crash

All five people killed in Thursday evening’s coach crash in the Engadin region have been identified, SRF reported. Ten injured passengers remain in hospitals, including in Austria, according to the Graubünden cantonal police.

Four women and one man died, Dutch broadcaster NOS reported, citing the Dutch Foreign Ministry. All five were Dutch nationals and aged over 70.

The ten passengers who suffered moderate to serious injuries are being treated in hospitals in Austria and in several Swiss cantons. All 45 people on board were Dutch nationals, police said.

The coach was travelling from Zernez towards Susch in the Lower Engadin on Thursday when it left the road near Less and tipped onto its side. Five passengers died and the other 40 suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious. Emergency services mounted a major operation, and authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
