Toddler seriously injured in fall from Vienna window

A one-and-a-half-year-old boy was seriously injured after falling from a window in Vienna’s Favoriten district on Friday morning, ORF reported.

The child suffered fractures and bruises after landing on the pavement. Emergency medical teams treated him at the scene before he was flown by helicopter to a hospital, according to a spokesperson for Vienna’s professional ambulance service.

The boy was conscious and responsive when emergency crews arrived and is not in life-threatening condition, the ambulance service said.

The circumstances of the fall remain unclear. Police are investigating the accident, a spokesperson said.
