Teen driver accused of injuring road worker in Innsbruck

A 17-year-old driver is suspected of deliberately injuring a 41-year-old road worker in Innsbruck overnight, ORF reported. The worker was carrying out road-marking work with a colleague on Brunecker Straße.
At about 12:30 a.m., a car drove in a slalom around the traffic cones. The workers tried to stop the driver, but he continued, turned around at the intersection with Museumsstraße and drove towards them again.
When the 41-year-old again tried to stop the vehicle, the driver abruptly swerved towards him. The worker suffered minor injuries to one hand and one knee.
The workers noted the car’s registration number, allowing police to identify both the registered owner and the driver. Both will be reported to the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office.
The car was also slightly damaged after the 41-year-old threw a road-marking cone at it.
