Brenner railway, mudslide, South Tyrol

A mudslide between Pflersch and Gossensass has halted rail services on the southern section of the Brenner railway since Tuesday evening, ORF reported. Replacement buses are currently operating in South Tyrol.

An on-site inspection is scheduled for Wednesday. Authorities will then decide whether to lift the closure, which was imposed for safety reasons.

The closure was originally due to end at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, but Südtirol Mobil reported that it had been extended.
