A nine-year-old boy was injured in a collision with a car in Lingenau on Monday evening, ORF reported. The child was riding an e-bike from a meadow onto the road when the crash occurred.

At about 6.25 p.m., a 50-year-old woman was driving along Oberbuch municipal road from Hittisau towards Lingenau. At the same time, the boy was riding down a slightly sloping meadow on his e-bike.

He entered the road directly behind an embankment. The driver saw him and immediately braked hard, but could not prevent the collision. The boy hit the front right of the car and struck his head against the windscreen.

He suffered injuries of unspecified severity and was taken to Bregenz State Hospital. Both the e-bike and the car were severely damaged.

A Red Cross ambulance and two police patrols attended the scene.
