A 37-year-old woman was injured after hitting a deer in Niederwölz in Murau district on Monday night, ORF reported. The deer was thrown into the opposite lane and struck a second car.
The woman was driving on the B75 shortly after 10.30 p.m. when the deer is believed to have suddenly jumped onto the road. She could not avoid a collision.
The Red Cross treated her at the scene before taking her to Friesach Hospital. The driver of the second car, a 21-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Both vehicles were so badly damaged that they could no longer be driven and had to be towed away.
