SEK detains man after threats against Munich boy and woman

A 69-year-old British man was taken into custody after allegedly threatening to shoot an 11-year-old boy and kill a woman with a knife in Munich, BR reported. The boy suffered minor injuries during the incident, and a special police unit was deployed.

Police said the man was visiting an acquaintance in an apartment building on Friday evening. At around 8 p.m., he went to the door of a 44-year-old neighbour and allegedly threatened to kill her with a knife. She then alerted police.

About 15 police patrols and a special operations command were sent to the address. The man later went onto the balcony of his acquaintance’s apartment, where he became involved in a verbal confrontation with the boy in the courtyard.

The 69-year-old allegedly threw objects from the balcony and hit the boy on the head with a small stone. He also allegedly threatened to shoot him.

Specialists from a police negotiation team established contact with the man by telephone and persuaded him to leave the apartment. Members of the special operations command then took him into custody without resistance. The operation ended after about two hours.

Police are investigating the British national on suspicion of making threats and causing dangerous bodily harm. They said there was no indication of any further danger from him. He was released after the police measures were completed.
