Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in Vienna collision

A 33-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car on Industriestrasse in Vienna’s Donaustadt area on Saturday afternoon, ORF reported.

Police spokeswoman Irina Steirer said the 70-year-old driver was travelling towards Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse when she attempted to turn around at the junction with Franz-Schuster-Gasse to park on the opposite side.

The motorcyclist struck the car and fell. He suffered several broken bones, including injuries to his pelvis and coccyx.

Vienna’s professional emergency medical service treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital.
