A 54-year-old driver was injured after a collision in Hohenems on Saturday morning, and a police alcohol test came back positive, ORF reported.

The crash happened at about 10.45 a.m. on Lustenauer Straße, or L203. The man was driving from Hohenems towards Lustenau when he turned right onto a field track beside the road. A car following behind, driven by a 51-year-old man, collided with the right side of his vehicle for reasons that were not immediately known.

Both cars came to a stop in a water ditch beside the road. The 54-year-old suffered injuries of unspecified severity, while the other driver was unharmed.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be recovered. Hohenems volunteer fire brigade responded with four vehicles and 25 personnel, alongside emergency medical services, an emergency doctor and two police patrols comprising five officers. The L203 remained restricted to traffic near the crash throughout the operation.
