Police expect thousands at Salzburg Pride parade

Thousands of people are expected to attend Salzburg’s annual Pride parade on Saturday, with police increasing their presence in the city, ORF reported.

Participants will gather at Salzburg’s main railway station from 4 p.m. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. and pass through the city, including by Mirabell Palace and the State Bridge.

The event celebrates the visibility and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, as well as other queer people. Short-term road closures may occur during the parade.

An evening rally is planned at Unipark Nonntal.
