Austropop star Rainhard Fendrich has sold out both of his anniversary tour concerts at the St Margarethen quarry, ORF Burgenland reported. His first performance on Thursday evening delighted fans in the dramatic natural setting.
The quarry, which has 5,000 seats, was full on Thursday, and no tickets remain for Friday’s concert.
Fendrich, who has performed live for more than 45 years, opened the show by welcoming the audience with jokes about his anniversary tour. “Anniversary always sounds a little like age. Quite rightly, I am older than the pope,” he said.
During the two-hour concert, Fendrich performed many of his hits. One visitor summed up the evening: “Good atmosphere, good music, good ambience. It was very nice.”
