The Bischofshofen SK 1933 football club from Pongau cannot compete in the Regionalliga Nord, ORF reported Friday. The Salzburg Football Association’s decision was upheld by the Austrian Football Association’s appeals tribunal on Thursday.

The club, which has no permanent home ground, will nevertheless play in the ÖFB Cup at Altach on Friday.

Civil proceedings are still pending over the termination of the agreement allowing the club to use the Bischofshofen football ground. The club’s leadership, led by Patrick Reiter, is challenging the termination. SC Bischofshofen now plays at the ground.

The future of Bischofshofen SK’s remaining players will be discussed at a Salzburg Football Association board meeting on September 21. The association said it would decide on the players’ registration status and whether they can join another club.
