Lorry gets stuck in Salzburg gate, causing smoke and traffic disruption

A lorry became stuck in the Klausentor gate in Salzburg’s old town shortly after midday on Thursday, reportedly damaging an overhead line and causing smoke, ORF reported.

A breathing-protection team is currently checking the scene. The overhead line must also be disconnected, and the professional fire service said the operation could take several hours.

Traffic has already begun backing up around the Klausentor. Cars and buses must take wide detours.
