Truck’s raised cargo bed crashes into bridge on A12

A 38 year old truck driver was injured after the raised cargo bed of his vehicle struck a bridge on the A12 Inntal motorway near Kundl in Tyrol on Wednesday morning, ORF reported.

The Austrian driver was carrying asphalt in a tipping semi trailer and had unloaded it at a roadworks area in Kundl. He drove under the bridge while the trailer was still raised.

The impact tore the cargo bed from the truck and severely damaged both the vehicle and the bridge. The Kramsach fire brigade freed the driver from the vehicle. Emergency services took him to Kufstein Hospital with injuries of unspecified severity.
