Four people were injured in a collision between two cars in Pischelsdorf in the Tulln district on Tuesday evening, ORF reported. One person suffered serious injuries and was flown to hospital by emergency helicopter.
The Pischelsdorf fire brigade said one car apparently collided at high speed with the driver’s side of the second vehicle. The exact cause of the crash is being investigated by police. The accident happened near a company exit, and both cars came to rest in an adjoining ditch.
Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to open the passenger side of one vehicle and remove the B pillar to reach a trapped occupant. They also secured the scene and established fire protection.
The three other injured people were treated by emergency services and taken to hospital. The two vehicles were recovered from the ditch using winches and secured. Firefighters from Pischelsdorf, Zwentendorf an der Donau and Langenschönbichl left the scene after about 90 minutes.
