Two people were seriously injured in a crash on the A1 motorway near Eberstalzell late Tuesday evening, ORF reported. A 29-year-old woman from Wels lost control of her car, left the road and hit a fence.
The woman was driving towards Vienna with her 32-year-old passenger at about 10pm. Shortly after the Eberstalzell motorway entrance, she left the carriageway at excessive speed. The car struck the fence with full force and overturned, ejecting the driver. The passenger, also from Wels, was seriously injured.
The Red Cross and an emergency doctor treated both people at the scene before they were taken to Wels Hospital. The A1 was reduced to one lane near the crash site for about an hour.
