Police capture three-metre carpet python in Winterthur forest

Zurich cantonal police have captured a three-metre carpet python found in a forest near Sennhof in Winterthur, SRF reported. A reptile specialist from the police secured the non-venomous snake and placed it in safe accommodation.

Police are now searching for the snake’s owner. The animal was apparently on a short outing in the forest on Thursday evening when it was discovered, the Zurich cantonal police said in an Instagram post.

No owner has come forward, and police have received no information about who the snake belongs to, a police spokesperson told Keystone-SDA.
