Man seriously injured after falling from carport roof

A 61-year-old man was seriously injured after falling from the roof of a carport in Weißkirchen, Styria, on Sunday, ORF reported.

The man from Graz was helping his daughter and son-in-law install roof panels at about 11.10 a.m. While he was on the roof, the other two were carrying out preparatory work on the ground for the next panel.

According to the son-in-law, the fall may have been caused by inattention. The daughter and son-in-law immediately provided first aid and called emergency services.

After receiving initial treatment at the scene, the man was flown by the C 17 emergency helicopter to the UKH Graz hospital with serious injuries. Investigators found no indication that anyone else was responsible for the accident.
