Baden venue opens autumn programme with dark humour

The Summer Arena Baden will open its autumn programme on September 2 with a mix of cabaret, Austropop, dark humour and film music, ORF reported. The events will take place in the historic venue.

Cabaret artist Andreas Vitásek will begin the programme with his anniversary show “Wie es mir gefällt”, combining old and new material, improvisation, theatre scenes and previously unpublished texts.

Wolfgang Ambros will perform the following day in a reduced and intimate setting. On September 4, journalist Florian Klenk and forensic pathologist Christian Reiter will combine science and real criminal cases with dark humour in “Es wird a Leich’ sein”. The programme will continue on September 5 with Ursula Strauss and Ernst Molden, who bring together music and poetry in “nochdvegl”.

Rock fans will be able to hear live interpretations of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and “The Dark Side of the Moon” in two programmes on September 9.

The season will end with a focus on film music. “The Magical Music of Harry Potter” is scheduled for September 10. On September 11, large orchestras and soloists will perform music from “The Lion King” and “The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others”.
