The Innsbruck based Ultsch hotel family has handed operational leadership of its businesses to the next generation, ORF reported. Founder Harald Ultsch stepped down after 20 years, while his 30 year old daughter Valentina joined the management team.
Ultsch built the Harrys Home hotel project over two decades. The group now includes 16 hotels in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Valentina Ultsch worked closely with her father for four years while preparing to take over the company. The business graduate said sharing her father’s passion for entrepreneurship had strengthened their relationship.
She will be responsible for around 400 employees, with personnel management at the centre of her new role. The group plans to add one or two hotels each year and will need highly qualified staff to support that growth.
Harald Ultsch said his daughter had the experience and intuition needed for the task. He has moved to the supervisory board after withdrawing from the management team. He also taught her to remain calm during stressful periods and provide employees with stability and security.
