Gürtel Nightwalk brings 50 acts to Vienna’s city railway arches

Vienna’s Gürtel Nightwalk will feature around 50 acts across four outdoor stages and numerous venues, ORF reports. The event runs between Alser Straße and Thaliastraße under the motto “Celebrate diversity”, with music, art and design offered free of charge.

The 28th edition opens on Saturday at 6.30pm at B72. Concerts begin in the early evening outside Chelsea, Lucia, B72 and rhiz. Acts include Post, Low Life Rich Kids, Burnswell, Constant Confusion, Lio Season, Pure Chlorine, SHA-N and Lex Candy.

Live music and DJs will also perform inside venues along the Gürtel. Café Carina will host six acts, including the Vienna Samba Project. Café Concerto’s programme includes Lupin, Marley Wildthing and Ernst, while Scrutch, Jonas Feurle and DJs will perform at Kramladen. The Loft and Loop will also host several musicians, with celebrations continuing into the night at both venues.

Seventeen locations will open their doors in total, with a programme ranging from live bands and singer-songwriters to electronic music. Café Concerto will hold an after-show party from midnight, followed by a “Chill Out” from 6am on Sunday.

A night market featuring contemporary art and design will run from 6pm to 10pm between B72 and ÖTF.

For the first time, the event will have a seven-member awareness team, identifiable by turquoise T-shirts and vests. Protected retreat spaces will also be available.

The Gürtel Nightwalk stretches for almost one kilometre and is supported by the districts of Ottakring, Hernals and Josefstadt. Admission to all events is free, and no registration is required.
