A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Linz on Thursday evening, ORF reported, citing police.
The 86-year-old driver was travelling towards the city centre on Garnisonstraße at about 8.55 p.m. She turned left into Weißenwolffstraße at a traffic-light-controlled junction as the woman was crossing.
The car hit the pedestrian, who was thrown onto the bonnet before landing several metres away on the road.
Paramedics from the Red Cross and an emergency doctor treated the woman at the scene. She was then taken to an accident hospital. The driver was not injured.
