Thöni order to create 30 jobs at Pfaffenhofen plant

The Thöni Group has won one of the largest multi-year orders in its history and will produce about one million aluminium structural components for an international car manufacturer from 2028 to 2036, ORF reported. The contract is expected to create 30 jobs at the company’s Pfaffenhofen production plant.

Thöni said the project includes manufacturing crash-resistant longitudinal members and other aluminium structural components for a new car model. The order expands a partnership with the car manufacturer that has existed for almost two decades.

About 20,000 tonnes of aluminium will be processed at the Pfaffenhofen plant. Thöni said the contract would secure its basic long-term capacity there, improve planning certainty for the coming years and strengthen the plant’s position in international competition. The company is currently looking for 30 employees for the project.

Thöni won the contract against numerous competitors. The company attributed the decision to its specialised manufacturing technology and its ability to produce highly complex structural components entirely at the Pfaffenhofen plant.

The family-run industrial company employs about 900 people at locations including Telfs, Landeck, Pfaffenhofen, Kempten in Germany, Rovereto in Italy and Bellingham in the United States. The Thöni Group reported non-consolidated revenue of about 473 million euros in the 2025/26 financial year.
