Burgenland offers ID Austria registration for seniors at Inform

Older visitors will be able to register for ID Austria in person at this year’s Inform event in Oberwart, ORF reported. The Burgenland state government will offer the service on Senior Day on September 4.

Registration will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Family Affairs Department stand. The service is being organised by the Oberwart district authority and the Department for Integration and Older Generations.

Visitors will need a valid Austrian passport or identity card and a suitable smartphone with an internet connection. The phone should also have sufficient battery power.

Burgenland state councillor Leonhard Schneemann said digital services should make life easier rather than create obstacles. He said personal support was particularly important for older people and that the service at Inform would provide a personal and straightforward way to access ID Austria.
