Brandenberg, diesel spill, road incidents

A truck driver was directed onto a narrow forest road in Brandenberg, in Kufstein district, by his navigation system on Tuesday afternoon, ORF reported. The vehicle’s trailer became stuck on the railing of a bridge, and the truck’s tank was later damaged, spilling about 200 litres of diesel.

The 40-year-old Romanian driver was travelling to a delivery destination in Achenkirch, in Schwaz district. After getting the truck and trailer combination stuck on the narrow bridge, he uncoupled the trailer and continued driving.

When the tank was damaged and the diesel leaked, the driver informed his haulage company, which contacted the Brandenberg municipality. The recovery proved difficult, and work had to continue on Wednesday after night fell.

Police said the forest road, also known as “Gang”, is closed to vehicle traffic.
