Unknown attackers assault man outside Lienz apartment

Two unknown attackers assaulted a 29-year-old man at his apartment door in Lienz in eastern Tyrol on Tuesday evening, according to police, ORF reported.

The incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. When the man opened the door, at least one of the attackers allegedly punched him repeatedly in the face.

The man initially escaped outside, but the attackers reportedly caught up with him after a few metres and assaulted him again. They stopped only when he shouted for help and then fled in an unknown direction.

Police searches have so far been unsuccessful. The man suffered injuries of unspecified severity.
