Four candidates compete for top NEOS slot in Upper Austria

Four candidates are seeking the top position on the NEOS list for the 2027 Upper Austrian state election, ORF reported on Tuesday. The deadline for applications has passed, and regional NEOS leader and parliamentary group chairman Felix Eypeltauer is not the only contender.

The other candidates are Hubert Pammer, a NEOS municipal councillor from Hirschbach in the Mühlviertel, NEOS member Franz Josef Reischenböck and Natascha Schürz.

The party’s state assembly will decide who leads the list on September 26. It will also approve the complete list, with 34 candidates standing for the remaining positions.

NEOS first entered the Upper Austrian state parliament in 2021 after winning 4.24 percent of the vote. Eypeltauer and Julia Bammer currently hold the party’s two seats. Bammer will not seek re-election for family reasons.
