Randa warns of possible Weisshorn glacier collapse

The municipality of Randa in Upper Valais has warned of a possible glacier collapse at the Weisshorn in the coming days, SRF reported. Existing barriers and instructions must be followed, and the situation is being monitored continuously.

Monitoring of the East Hanging Glacier was raised to level 3 on Monday because of sharply increased movement and detected acceleration, the municipality said. The designated danger zone must not be entered until further notice.
