Firefighter reported to police as suspected arsonist

ORF reported that a firefighter in Burgenland has been reported to police as a suspected arsonist. Police confirmed the report by the Kronen Zeitung on Monday morning.

The 28-year-old is suspected of setting fire to dry grass on embankments and meadows in the Oberpullendorf district in July and August using burning paper.

The suspect is said to have admitted starting three fires and then taking part in extinguishing them. No one was injured.
