High-value e-bikes and racing bicycles worth more than 25,000 euros were stolen at three locations in Rosenheim district over the weekend, BR reported. Police suspect the thefts may be linked to the Wendelsteinrundfahrt cycling event held in Bad Feilnbach on Saturday.
A participant left a 7,000-euro e-bike secured to a lamppost in Bad Feilnbach at around midday. When the participant returned about an hour later, the bicycle was gone.
Later that afternoon, another participant parked a small van on a meadow near Gottschalling, in Bad Feilnbach. Two racing bicycles worth about 14,500 euros in total were stolen from the vehicle while their owners were away for around 30 minutes.
During the night into Sunday, a car parked in Oberaudorf was broken into. A racing bicycle worth about 4,000 euros and a bicycle helmet valued at around 200 euros were taken from the boot.
Police are examining whether the thefts were carried out by one or more perpetrators. Participants or visitors to the Wendelsteinrundfahrt who saw suspicious people or vehicles are asked to contact the police.
