Driver injured after car overturns at 2.02 per mille

A 24-year-old man was injured after his car overturned in Gampern in the Vöcklabruck district early Sunday, with a breath test recording 2.02 per mille, ORF reported.

The man was driving from Neukirchen an der Vöckla towards Gampern on a municipal road at about 4am when his car left the road. It hit a guardrail, tipped onto its side and then onto its roof before sliding several metres and coming to a stop on a nearby railway bridge.

By the time police arrived, the driver had got out of the vehicle and was receiving first aid from emergency responders. He was taken to Salzkammergutklinikum hospital in Vöcklabruck for further treatment.

He is likely to lose his driving licence for some time.
