A fire broke out early Saturday in an attic apartment on Brünner Straße in Vienna’s Floridsdorf district, ORF Wien reported. The Vienna professional fire brigade responded with six vehicles and about 30 personnel.
Firefighters were alerted at about 7.30 a.m. and found flames coming from a window shortly after arriving. They extinguished the fire quickly, with the operation declared over at 8.10 a.m.
Firefighters used two hose lines and breathing equipment. Brünner Straße was briefly closed to allow a turntable ladder to be deployed. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains unclear. The apartment apparently had not yet been occupied, and work for an attic conversion is believed to be under way in the building. Several apartments are being offered for sale, with completion listed in advertisements for the end of this year or spring 2027.
