Six fire brigades contain fire at pellet plant silo

A fire broke out in a silo at the RZ Pellets production facility in Wiesenau, part of the municipality of Bad St. Leonhard, on Friday evening, ORF reported. Six fire brigades responded and quickly contained the blaze.

Firefighters removed the burning material from the silo using a screw conveyor and extinguished it outside the silo. The operation continued until midnight as crews checked that all embers had been extinguished.

A fire watch was then established to continue monitoring the site.
