Kärnten parties prepare for ORF summer interviews

ORF Kärnten will begin its summer interview series with the leaders of the four parties represented in the state parliament on Thursday. The interviews will examine where the parties stand more than six months before the municipal and mayoral elections, ORF Kärnten reports.

Gerhard Köfer of Team Kärnten will be the first guest. The interviews will take place in Ingeborg Bachmann Park in front of the ORF broadcasting centre in Klagenfurt.

Topics will range from the consequences of the climate crisis and economic issues affecting the state to internal party matters. The municipal and mayoral elections are also seen as a trial run for the state elections one year later, ORF Kärnten editor-in-chief Bernhard Bieche said.

ÖVP leader Martin Gruber is scheduled to appear on August 25, followed by FPÖ leader Erwin Angerer on August 27. State Governor Daniel Fellner will take part on September 1, marking his first summer interview in the series.

The interviews will be recorded in the afternoon using four cameras. A summary will be broadcast from 7 p.m. on Kärnten heute on ORF 2 and at 5 p.m. on Radio Kärnten’s evening news. The full interviews will be available online at kaernten.ORF.at.
