Graz search operation ends after man is found safe

A search operation in central Graz was quickly called off on Wednesday after a man reported to have fallen into the Mur river was found unharmed, ORF reported.

A woman alerted emergency services shortly before 1 p.m., saying that a man had fallen into the river. Police and firefighters launched an extensive search, using police drones, fire service boats, police search dogs and a police helicopter.

The man was found safe after just a few minutes. According to initial police findings, he had probably never been in the Mur. The search operation, which had drawn attention in central Graz, was then ended.
