Police find drug stash apartment after suspect breaks femur fleeing

Investigators found a drug stash apartment in Favoriten after receiving information in early August, ORF reported. Police seized several kilograms of cannabis, cocaine, cash and forged identity documents.

Drug investigators secured nine kilograms of cannabis herb, 1.4 kilograms of cannabis resin and 34 grams of cocaine. They also found almost 20,000 euros and three forged identity documents.

A 31 year old Syrian national jumped from the apartment’s second floor while trying to evade arrest. He fractured his femur and was found lying in the building’s courtyard, according to police spokesman Philipp Hasslinger.

Emergency medical workers treated the man before police arrested him. He refused to give a statement and was taken to a correctional facility after consultation with the public prosecutor’s office.
