Drone sales set for new record as Galaxus demand surges

Drone sales in 2026 are on course to reach a new record, SRF reports. Sales at Galaxus are currently 20 percent higher than during the same period in 2025, which was itself a record year.

Digitec Galaxus said demand had recovered after declining for a time following the peak during the coronavirus pandemic. It now exceeds the previous record years of 2020 and 2025. Interest had fallen particularly sharply in 2023, when sales dropped 18 percent from the previous year.

Combination packages are the most popular choice among customers, according to the online retailer. These packages include a drone together with replacement propellers, additional batteries, chargers or carrying bags. For many people, drones have become a regular summer companion for capturing spectacular images.
