Steyr-based engine manufacturer Steyr Motors has significantly lowered its business targets, citing delays to international defence projects, ORF reported on Monday.

The company posted preliminary first-half revenue of 22.8 million euros for 2026, down slightly from 23.1 million euros in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings before interest and tax fell more sharply to 0.1 million euros.

Steyr Motors now expects full-year group revenue of between 56 million and 61 million euros, compared with its previous forecast of 75 million to 95 million euros. The revised outlook would still represent revenue growth of 15 to 25 percent compared with 2025, the company said.

The company blamed delays in public procurement, approval and acceptance processes for international defence projects. As a result, about 10 million euros in revenue was not realised during the first half of the year. Further delays could follow, it said.

Steyr Motors also cut its expected operating margin. The forecast adjusted EBIT margin now stands at between 8 and 12 percent, down from a previous expectation of at least 15 percent.

The company withdrew its medium-term forecast for 2027, which had envisaged revenue of around 140 million euros and operating earnings of 40 million euros. Those targets could no longer be achieved, Steyr Motors said.

The company had already lowered its expectations in autumn 2025 because of project delays.
