ORF Upper Austria reported that the A8 Innkreis motorway will be closed overnight in one direction for three nights while work continues on a wildlife bridge.
From Monday evening, the motorway will be closed towards Suben between Haag am Hausruck and Meggenhofen from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
The 50-metre bridge is being built near Aistersheim in the Grieskirchen district, close to the motorway service station. Crews are currently lifting the structure’s beams into place.
From the following week, beginning Monday, the closure will apply in the direction of Voralpenkreuz.
The bridge is intended to connect wildlife habitats. According to ASFINAG, species including roe deer, red deer and wild boar depend on connected habitats to maintain genetic exchange and strengthen biodiversity.
