Klagenfurt, Mallorca flight, police arrests

Seven men were detained after a pilot refused to allow two intoxicated passengers to board a Ryanair flight from Klagenfurt Airport to Mallorca late Friday, ORF reported. The rest of their eight-member group later left the aircraft, and the flight departed more than an hour late.

The flight was due to leave at 10.40 p.m. Two men from the group, from the Klagenfurt-Land and Feldkirchen districts, were refused boarding because they were drunk. The ensuing argument led to police being called.

The two men insulted the officers and were taken to a police station to establish their identities. The other members of the group then left the aircraft, prompting another police response.

Four of the men became highly aggressive and scuffled with officers. Four were provisionally detained on suspicion of attempted resistance against state authority, while another was detained for an administrative offence. One police officer sustained minor injuries.
