Three-year-old dies after being struck by tractor trailer in Höchst

A three-year-old boy died in Höchst on Thursday evening after being struck by the trailer of his father’s tractor, according to a police report cited by ORF.

The accident happened at about 5.50 p.m. during work inside an open cowshed. The 50-year-old farmer was distributing feed with his tractor and trailer when his son followed him unnoticed on a bicycle.

At the end of the building, the farmer reversed the tractor. A trailer wheel then struck the child.

Emergency responders, doctors and a rescue helicopter attempted to resuscitate the boy, but all efforts were unsuccessful. A breathalyser test on the father was negative.
