Knife attack seriously injures man in Linz city centre

A 24-year-old Turkish man was seriously injured in a knife attack in central Linz during the night before Thursday, ORF Upper Austria reported.

Police found the bleeding man near Volksgarten at around 2 a.m. The incident took place between the Goethe intersection and Volksgarten, police told ORF.

The attacker fled, and investigators currently have no witnesses, according to police. An emergency doctor took the injured man to Kepler University Hospital. He is no longer in danger of dying, police said.
