Dornbirn property entrepreneur seeks personal insolvency over 11.3 million euros

Dornbirn property entrepreneur Christoph Breuß has applied to the Dornbirn District Court to open personal insolvency proceedings, ORF reported. The liabilities amount to about 11.3 million euros, while the proposed repayment quota is 0.127 percent, according to the Wirtschaftspresseagentur news agency.

Feldkirch lawyer Martin Brunner of Blum, Hagen & Partner has been appointed insolvency administrator. According to the agency, appointing an administrator is rare in personal insolvency proceedings, unlike in corporate bankruptcies. The appointment suggests that the case is significantly larger than average, either because of the assets that can be realised or the level of liabilities.

Removed from company register

Breuß worked for several years, among other roles, as managing director of the Dornbirn property company Breuss & Partner. He was removed from that position in the commercial register on July 14, about a month before filing for insolvency.

The family company, founded in 2019, is now managed by Johannes Breuß, who also became a minority shareholder in Breuss & Partner a few weeks ago. The majority owner is Breuss Holding GmbH, which is still managed by Christoph Breuß.

The holding company, founded three years ago, is now wholly owned by Silvana Breuß. Christoph Breuß left the company as a shareholder three months after it was established.
