Police stories headline Reichenau cultural festival programme

Reichenau Cultural Summer will open its seventh season on Friday, with literature, music and cabaret scheduled at Reichenau Castle in Lower Austria through September 6, ORF reported.

The festival is moving to the castle for the first time because renovation work is being carried out at Parkhotel Hirschwang, its previous venue. Events will take place in the castle’s air-conditioned festival hall.

The programme includes appearances by Ursula Strauss, Robert Palfrader, Max Müller and Stefan Jürgens. One of its highlights is the Austrian premiere of actor Wolfgang Böck’s new solo programme, “Trautmann lacht!”, on Sunday, August 16, at 11 a.m.

In the approximately 70-minute performance, Böck presents humorous stories from police work. According to the organisers, he has compiled anecdotes from police service and police stories by well-known authors.

The other performances will also last around 70 minutes and will be held without an interval. The festival is organised by the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labour. Admission costs 25 euros per performance.

A 70-euro package is also available, including admission and a four-course buffet meal. The Reichenau Cultural Summer runs from August 14 to September 6 at Reichenau Castle.
