A veterinarian from the Korneuburg district has come forward as the anonymous donor who gave 11-year-old Bruce from Bisamberg an electric guitar, ORF reported. He said he wanted to support the young rock fan and encourage his musical talent.

Bruce and his sister had been selling lemonade to raise money for an electric guitar. After speaking briefly with Bruce about his wish to play and his musical taste, the man returned to the stand with an unused guitar from home.

The family had been dismantling the stand and had forgotten to ask for his name. Following an appeal by ORF, the donor contacted the broadcaster’s editorial team. His name will remain anonymous.

He gave Bruce his Yamaha Pacifica, which he described as a suitable model for a beginner. The guitar has been artistically decorated with a hand-painted dragon on its body, and the donor also included a new set of strings.

The veterinarian said he was particularly moved by the boy’s taste in music. He is a rock and blues fan who grew up listening to major hard rock bands from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

“It is important to me to support a young talent, especially when Bruce already has such a distinct musical taste at such a young age,” he told ORF. He added that he would be pleased to attend one of Bruce’s performances, but said it would also be fine if the boy played only for himself.
