Bredlinger misses 800m semi-final after breathing problems

Caroline Bredlinger missed the 800-metre semi-final at the athletics European Championships in Birmingham after struggling with breathing problems, ORF reported. She finished sixth in her heat.

Bredlinger made a brave start behind superstar Femke-Broeders-Bol but could not maintain her strength in the final sprint. She said she was disappointed after missing the chance to reach the semi-finals.

Strohmayer-Dangl reaches hurdles semi-final

Niklas Strohmayer-Dangl advanced confidently to the semi-finals of the 400-metre hurdles. Using a controlled race strategy, he finished second in his heat and recorded the fourth-fastest time in the field.

Strohmayer-Dangl said he was satisfied with his performance and looked ahead positively to the semi-final, where he will face the leading hurdlers.

Lukas Weisheitinger also reached the discus final. The six-time Eisenstadt winner was among the best discus throwers at the championships and completed qualification successfully.
