18-year-old cyclist dies after crashing into rock face in Tyrol

An 18-year-old racing cyclist died after crashing into a rock face in Kramsach in Tyrol’s Kufstein district on Monday afternoon, ORF reported. Police said he died at the scene.
The man, who was from Aachen, Germany, was travelling from Brandenberg towards Kramsach on the Brandenberg Road at about 4.20pm. The road descends in that section.
According to police, he apparently lost control of his bicycle on a bend. Despite attempting to brake, he crossed to the left side of the road and hit a rock face directly beside the carriageway. He then came to rest on the asphalt.
Another road user found him seriously injured on the road, administered first aid and called emergency services. The 18-year-old died at the scene.
