Waldland invests 5.5 million euros to expand headquarters

Waldland will invest 5.5 million euros to expand its headquarters in Oberwaltenreith in the Zwettl district, ORF reported. An automated hygiene warehouse with a two-storey hall is scheduled to be completed by mid-2027.

The more than 3,000-square-metre hall will nearly double storage capacity at the location. Around 8,000 additional storage spaces will be added to the existing 12,000.

The upper floor will house storage for dried raw materials, with space for about 5,000 crates. A finished-goods warehouse for about 3,000 Euro pallets of processed and packaged products is planned on the lower floor.

The project is supported by the province. During a site visit, Deputy Governor Stephan Pernkopf of the ÖVP described the investment as an impulse for the region and a commitment to long-term cooperation with farming suppliers.

Waldland specialises in growing and marketing medicinal plants, spices, baking seeds, and culinary and tea herbs. Its products include milk thistle, ginkgo, St John’s wort, caraway, fennel and Waldviertel grey poppy seed, and are exported worldwide.
