According to ORF, Nico Wiener has retained his Austrian national title in compound archery. His teammate Ingrid Ronacher won the women’s event, while Christian Walgramm claimed his first national title in traditional archery.

Wiener said the victory was important preparation for upcoming international competitions. He added that the title was one of several he had won and that the championships provided useful preparation for the next events.

Ronacher secured the women’s compound title after a closely contested final that was decided in a shoot-off.

Walgramm won the men’s traditional archery competition by a single point. He said he had prepared specifically for the weekend and managed to exceed his training performance during the tournament.

Rosemarie Leitner, a local competitor from Zurndorf, won the barebow title for the third consecutive time. She said she had felt confident throughout the competition and that her preparation for the world championships had gone well.

The Austrian field archery world championships are scheduled for August, followed by the 3D archery world championships in September. The Austrian team, including Ronacher and Wiener, is targeting the medal places.
